Nawaz Sharif has been elected unopposed as the President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N)

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been re-elected as the president of his party, the Pakistan Muslim League (N), after six years.

Lahore (News Latest, May 28, 2024): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been elected unopposed as the president of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). According to media reports, Nawaz Sharif has once again become the party president after six years. The election for the new president took place following the resignation of the former president, Shahbaz Sharif. For the position of party president, eight nomination papers were submitted for Nawaz Sharif, with separate nominations coming from all four provinces.

It has been reported that the time for submitting nomination papers for the party president candidate was from 10 AM to 12 PM. Nomination papers for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were also submitted from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad. From Sindh, PML-N President Bashir Memon submitted the papers, from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Maqam submitted them, and from Balochistan, Sardar Yaqoob submitted the papers for Nawaz Sharif. The scrutiny of the submitted nomination papers was completed by 2 PM.

It has been learned that the party’s Chief Election Commissioner, Rana Sanaullah, summoned the proposers and seconders on behalf of PML-N, and Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers were scrutinized. Subsequently, Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers were approved, and the former Prime Minister was elected unopposed as the President of PML-N.
