Formation Commanders Conference: The perpetrators of the 9th May incidents should be brought to justice.

Without judicial action against the perpetrators of the 9th May incidents, the country will remain hostage to conspiratorial elements. Under the chairmanship of the Army Chief, the 83rd Formation Commanders Conference included the participation of Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army.

Rawalpindi (Latest News – May 30, 2024) Under the chairmanship of the Army Chief, participants of the 83rd Formation Commanders Conference stated that the planners, perpetrators, encouragers, and facilitators of the May 9 incidents should be brought to justice. Without immediate and transparent judicial and legal action against the perpetrators of the May 9 incidents, the country will remain hostage to conspiratorial elements.

According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 83rd Formation Commanders Conference was held under the chairmanship of the Army Chief. The conference was attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army. The forum emphasized that, in the broader national interest, it is essential to uphold the rule of law and to take immediate and transparent judicial and legal action against the perpetrators of the May incidents. Without such actions, the country will perpetually remain hostage to conspiratorial elements.

The forum’s participants stated that the Pakistani nation is fully aware of the nefarious and malicious intentions of those who spread lies and propaganda. They expressed confidence that these unholy forces will be completely and decisively defeated, God willing. According to ISPR, the forum offered prayers for the souls of the martyrs and paid great tribute to the immense sacrifices of the officers and soldiers of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and Pakistani citizens for the protection, safety, and sovereignty of the country.

ISPR stated that the forum was briefed on the geostrategic environment, emerging challenges to national security, and the Pakistan Army’s strategy to counter multi-domain threats. According to the declaration of the Formation Commanders Conference, the Pakistani nation is fully aware of the nefarious and malicious intentions of those who spread lies and propaganda. The purpose of this propaganda is to create a rift between national institutions, especially the Pakistan Armed Forces, and the people, and to spread despair among the Pakistani nation. However, these unholy forces will be completely and decisively defeated.

The forum expressed its full support for the government’s initiatives across various sectors aimed at sustainable economic development and the prevention of illegal activities, including smuggling, hoarding, and electricity theft. It also backed the implementation of the One Document Regime, the dignified repatriation of illegal foreign immigrants, and the protection of the national database. The Army Chief praised the formations for their high-quality training during various exercises and commended the officers and soldiers for their outstanding performance in counter-terrorism operations.

The Army Chief also praised the high morale and constant operational readiness of the formations. During the conference, the military leadership paid great tribute to the immense sacrifices of the martyrs. The forum acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the officers and soldiers of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and Pakistani citizens in protecting the country’s safety, security, and sovereignty.

Participants were also informed about new technological innovations aimed at modernizing the Pakistan Army and enhancing logistical support for field formations. The forum expressed concerns, stating that “enemies of Pakistan are using Afghanistan to target security forces and innocent civilians within Pakistan.”

The forum acknowledged the significant sacrifices of the civilian population in newly merged districts in the war against terrorism. Emphasis was placed on the importance of developing these newly merged districts to decisively defeat terrorism. The forum also stressed the need for social and economic development in Balochistan to effectively counter external propaganda. It was noted that the backing of propaganda by foreign-sponsored proxies is aimed at keeping the youth of Balochistan away from peace and development.
